Monetisation of electoral politics must stop - Youth Mp, Hon. Wilkinson
According to Hon. Wilkinson Nana Kwadwo Ameyaw,a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology who doubles as the Youth Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency in the youth model Parliament under YEC and Advocate for women empowerment and quality education and youth mp for for Kintampo north under the youth leadership Parliament. Monetisation of electoral politics has become an emerging threat to Ghana’s democracy. The emergence and the growth of the use of money to negatively influence the nation’s electoral politics and governance is undermining multiparty representative democracy in the country. This constitutes the giving of cash or other material incentives in exchange for votes, a phenomenon known in Ghana as “moneycracy”.
